Accident leads to three arrests

An accident in Monroe County has led to the arrest of one of the drivers and his two passengers. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the crash occurred about 5:17 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, along SR115 at Ferncrest Road, in Blakeslee.

Police responded to the location for a rear-end crash. Police said a car operated by James Musial, 23, of Harvey's Lake, ran into the rear of another vehicle.

Musial was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance, police said, and was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for a blood test.

Two passengers, Jesse Scharff, 21, of Toms River, N.J., and Sarah Bozentka, 22, of Trucksville, Luzerne County, were found to be in possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Police said Musial will be charged with driving under the influence (DUI) while Scharff and Bozentka will be charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
