Woman's Club of Slatington

The Woman's Club of Slatington recently hosted a speaker on Pachacuti Fair Trade and gifts. The proceeds collected from the sale of these items goes back to the third world countries were the items were made. This topic gave members a chance to start some early holiday shopping and help out the club's International Affairs department.

In December, the club will celebrate the holidays with its annual holiday party and gift exchange. The club meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Slatington. Guests are always welcome.

In October, the club hosted Dale Bryfogle of the Northern Lehigh Food Bank for a discussion on the services the food bank provides to the Northern Lehigh Community. The Woman's Club is collecting feminine products to donate to the food bank over the course of the 2010-2011 club year, and made its first donation at the October meeting. The club will continue to focus on food banks on the state level this year in accordance with the state president's project.

The club also announced the winner of the one-of-a-kind Historical Northern Lehigh Quilt, Robert and Sharon Kuntz of Slatington.
