Berks man jailed in Schuylkill

A Berks County man was jailed following an incident in Schuylkill County that occurred about 7:45 a.m. on Nov. 14.

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported that Eric Scott Cobb, and Mamie McClain, of Minersville, were in a vehicle riding along SR901 in the area of Red House Road, in North Manheim Townshihp, when he punched McClain about the face and head area numerous times. Cobb also grabbed her by the neck.

He was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment. He was arraigned before duty District Judge David A. Plachko, of Port Carbon, and committed to the county prison in Pottsville after failing to post 10 percent of $25,000 bail.

He was later picked up on a state parole board detainer and placed in the state correctional institution at Frackville.
