Road obstruction causes damages

A piece of metal on a road caused damages to two vehicles. State police at Lehighton said the incidents occurred along SR248 in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County, on Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Troopers said about 5:35 p.m. Jacob L. Roth, 28, of Lehighton, was driving a 2001 Mitsubishi Galante eastbound near Parryville when his car struck a large piece of metal on the road.

Five minutes later Richard F. Orr, 52, of Jim Thorpe, was westbound driving a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country, in the same area when his vehicle hit the same piece of metal. Both vehicles sustained damages to the undercarriage. No one was reported injured.
