Summit Hill
Christmas schedule
The Rev. James Burdess, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, has announced the parish's Christmas season schedule of services as follows:
Christmas Masses - Friday, Dec. 24, 4 and 9 p.m.; and Christmas Day, 9 a.m.
For the Feast of the Holy Family, there will be Sunday (Dec. 26) morning Masses only. They will be celebrated at 9 and 11 a.m.
New Year's Masses - Friday, Dec. 31, 6:30 p.m.; and New Year's Day, 9 a.m.
For the Feast of the Epiphany, there will be Sunday (Jan. 2) morning Masses only. They will be celebrated at 9 and 11 a.m.
Methodist Charge
The Christmas schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge is as follows:
Christmas Eve services will be held Friday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church and at 7:30 p.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will preside at both services.
Presbyterian church
The Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, will hold a Christmas Eve candlelight service on Friday, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m. The Rev. Fred Rogers, pastor, will officiate.
Lansford
Council meetings
The Lansford Borough Council has five meetings scheduled next week. They are:
Monday, Dec. 27 - Public Safety Committee, 6:30 p.m.; and Public Works Committee, 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 28 - Municipal Administration Committee (borough office), 6 p.m.
Thursday, Dec. 30 - Parks & Recreation Committee, 6:30 p.m.; and Community Development, Planning, Zoning, & Ordinance Committee, 7:15 p.m.
Parish ministry
A new endeavor of parish ministry, HOPE (Helping Older Parishioners Earnestly), is being organize at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford. Volunteers are needed to work in pairs to assist parishioners in need. For more information, contact Marilyn Barrett, (570) 645-0370.

The Rev. Kenneth Medve, pastor of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, has announced the parish's Christmas season schedule of services as follows:
Christmas Eve - masses will be celebrated at 4 and 9 p.m.
Christmas Day - Mass will b e celebrated at 9 a.m.
The children and grandchildren of the parish will present their annual Christmas pageant at the 4 p.m. Mass of Christmas Eve.
St. John's Lutheran
The Christmas schedule for St. John's Lutheran, 1 East Abbott St., Lansford, is Dec. 24, Christmas Eve, at 6 p.m. Christmas Day service is at 10:30 a.m.
Coaldale
Christ Redeemer
Christ Redeemer Church, 151 Third St., Coaldale, will celebrate Christmas with a Holy Communion service at 7:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
