Cat alerts resident of smoke in basement
A cat was the hero at a recent incident in Summit Hill.
According to borough police, on Dec. 14, at 7:58 a.m., fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to 115 W. Holland St., for smoke in the residence's basement. It was discovered that the oil burner had malfunctioned.
Police noted that it was the resident's cat who woke up its owner and alerted her to the danger.
The home was vented and the problem was rectified.
