Monroe resident facing theft count

A Monroe County resident is facing a charge of retail theft following an incident at the Weis Market located along SR209 in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said on Monday, Dec. 13, about 5:15 p.m. Heidi Depuy, 24, of Kunkletown, was shopping in the store and placed three bottles of personal lubricants into her purse. She continued to shop and checked out at the cash register with her groceries but failed to pay for the three bottles.

She exited the store and was stopped in the parking lot by store security. The total value of the stolen items was set at $44.24. All the items were recovered, troopers said.

She was taken into custody, processed and later released after receiving a citation, troopers added.
