State police at the Lehighton barracks said Tia R. Kolek, 19, of Lehighton, was cited for a stop sign violation after a two-vehicle accident Dec. 17 at 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Mahoning Mountain and Troxell's roads in East Penn Township.

No one was injured in the crash.

Police said Kolek was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty when she pulled out of the intersection to contonue straight on Troxell's Road. Her vehicle struck a 2002 Buick Century driven by Lois A. Nunnermacker, 60, also of Lehighton, who was westbound on Mahoning Mountain Road at the time.

Police said after the initial impact the Century began to rotate counter-clockwise and traveled into a field. It was towed from the scene.

Police were assisted at the scene by the East Penn Township Fire Department and the Lehighton Ambulance.
