2 escape injuries in Schuylkill crash

A driver and his passenger escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash on Dec. 27 at 1:05 p.m. along State Route 901 in Cass Township, Schuylkill County.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Brett Morton, 23, of Sunbury, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier south on Rt. 901 when he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left curve in the roadway. The vehicle struck a utility pole with its rear end and came to rest on the eastern berm of the road, facing northeast.

The passenger was Cortni-Starr Pezola, 25.

Police said Morton will be charged with driving on roadways laned for traffic.
