Wilkes-Barre man arrested in Monroe

George Blauer, 42, of Wilkes-Barre, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol as a result of a traffic stop Dec. 28 at 11:20 p.m. on Route 940 in Tobyhanna Township.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police report he was stopped for multiple Motor Vehicle Code violations, after which time police detected a strong odor of alcohol on him, as well as witnessing other signs of intoxication. Police said he failed a field sobriety test and was taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, where he submitted to a blood test to determine his blood-alcohol level.
