Nesquehoning couple wed 50 years

Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Lucas Jr. of Nesquehoning recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Nesquehoning by the Rev. John Feeser.

Mrs. Lucas is the former Margaret Mosko, daughter of the late John and Mary Mosko of Nesquehoning. Mr. Lucas is the son of the late Isabel and Edward J. Lucas Sr., also of Nesquehoning.

The couple are the parents of four children: Maureen, wife of David Whitestone of Winthrop, Maine; Edward M. Lucas, and his wife Virginia of Downingtown; Kathryn Lucas of Fort Defiance, Ariz.; and the late Patricia.

They have five grandchildren: Ben, Zach and Anna Whitestone; and James and Tommy Lucas.
