Lehighton police probe stabbing

Lehighton police are investigating an incident which occurred in or near the intersection of South Third and Bridge streets early Saturday morning. Just before 5 a.m. emergency personnel and police were dispatched to what was reported as a female with a knife who had slashed a male. Emergency medical personnel held back until police could secure the scene. Lehighton paramedics found the victim standing in the middle of the intersection. He was treated at the scene and transferred to the Lehighton hospital.
