Lansford couple celebrates 50 years

Maryjane and Edward D. Nunemacher, Lansford recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Jan. 23, 1960 at St. Joseph's Church in Summit Hill by the Rev. Haley.

Mrs. Nunemacher is the daughter of the late James and Christina Kennedy of Summit Hill. Mr. Nunemacher is the son of the late George and Gertrude Nunemacher of Andreas.

The couple have six children: Edward and his wife Priscilla of Summit Hill; Michael, Joe and his wife Anissa, Christine and her husband Greg, all of Lansford; James and Jade of Coaldale; and the late Timothy.

They have nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In honor of the occasion the Nunemachers renewed their vows on Jan. 23 at St. Katharine Drexel's in Lansford, with the Rev. Kenneth Medve and Deacon James Henninger officiating. A celebratory dinner followed at Kelly's Irish Pub in Lansford, attended by family and friends.
