Dangerous road snowdrifts caused the closing of Fairview Street, SR-1020, in Barnesville, West of Hometown Wednesday night. Snowdrifts caused by high winds were especially prominent on roads adjacent to fields or flat plains throughout the area. Rush Township workers said some areas which were plowed numerous times throughout the day were overcome with snowdrifts caused by blowing winds. Some of these snowdrifts were higher than the actual accumulation. Snowdrifts continued overnight during periodic times of high winds. Pictured is an abandoned truck on Fairview St, SR-1020, in Barnesville, West of Hometown, that got stuck in a developing snowdrift.
