The Carbon-Tamaqua American Cancer Society Relay For Life for Tamaqua and surrounding communities held its Cancer Survivor Bowling Party at the Spare Time Bowling Lanes in Hometown on Sunday.

The organization celebrated with the American Cancer Society's new national theme of "Birthdays."

"The theme of the party was 'birthdays' because the fight against cancer creates a world with more birthdays," said Heather Eltringham, survivor committee chairwoman.

The Carbon-Tamaqua ACS's Power Of Purple Party is set for Monday March 22 at the Basile Italian Delight Restaurant in Hometown.

All cancer survivors, caregivers, and past and present Tamaqua Relay For Life teams are invited to attend at no charge. Call Caylan Chanwik, Carbon-Tamaqua ACS Unit community income development specialist, at (888) 227-5445 extension 3112 to RSVP.

There is also a Relay For Life indoor yard sale scheduled this Saturday March 6 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tamaqua Mohn Building. Please e-mail Jennifer Miller at hope0369@yahoo.com for more information.
