New deck in JT opens Sunday for St. Patrick's Day Parade
Going Undercover! No, we're not talking secret agents or the FBI.
The new deck located next to Molly Maguires Pub & Steakhouse on Hazard Square in Historic Downtown Jim Thorpe has just gone under the cover of a large canopy as final preparations have been completed for it to be opening at 11 a.m. for Sunday's St. Patrick's Day parade in the County seat community.
At 80-by-30 feet in size, this spacious facility has an area of 2,200 square feet which features, among other things, a large outdoor full-bar and a side-bar with tile bar tops and eventual seating for about 90 to 100 people who want to dine there when it goes into full operation.
The full-bar will accommodate 20 seats and has 18 taps featuring foreign, domestic, craft, and rotating seasonal beers while the side-bar has space for another 8 to 12 seats.
For the parade on Sunday, there will also be a food station with soft pretzels, hot dogs, chicken fingers, soup, and chili available.
The formal Grand Opening of the deck will be held about the third week in April and will then feature full-restaurant dining.
Until the grand opening in April, the deck will be open on weekends depending on the weather.
Planned operating hours will range from 11 a.m. to noon for opening times until about 8 or 9 p.m. for closing, depending on the weather and the season.
In the event of inclement weather, the deck will also have side curtains that will roll down and are transparent so as not to restrict the view.
This family-friendly, handicap-accessible facility is expected to be open 8 to 9 months out of the year and will accommodate banquets, private parties, showers, weddings of up to 90 or 100 people.
Now customers can relax in an outdoor atmosphere with a view of mountains, mansions, trains and more as the seasons roll on by.
