Sister Bernard Agnes, IHM, principal, at Marian Catholic has announced that seven students received awards during the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science Regional Competition held at Easton Area High School.

Mr. Robert Valente, Chemistry instructor at Marian Catholic and Mrs. Lorraine Piehota, retired Bishop Hafey science instructor, were the sponsors.

Special Awards

Theresa Patten, senior, daughter of Dr. Donald and Mary Patten - Behavioral Psychology, a $25 PJAS Region 3 Award, Five Year Perseverance Certificate, and 1st Place Presentation Award.

Stephen Valente, sophomore, son of Robert and Michele Valente - Chemistry, a $25 PPL Award and 1st Place Presentation Award.

Victoria Vetter, sophomore, daughter of Harry and Dawn Vetter - Biology, a $50 PJAS Region 3 Award and 1st Place Presentation Award.

Jessica Horlacher, freshman, daughter of Genevieve Bubrowski and Scott Horlacher - Chemistry, a $25 PPL Award and 1st Place Presentation Award.

Christopher Ondish, junior, son of Andrew and Zelda Ondish - Behavioral Psychology

2nd Place Awards

Kimberly Wilson, daughter of Anthony and Milissa Wilson - Chemistry

Molly Balliet, daughter of Bruce and Marlene Balliet - Microbiology

First place students will attend the state competition at Penn State, University Park from May 16-18.
