Area residents top students at Misericordia
DALLAS, Pa. - The Misericordia University Physical Therapy Department recently acknowledged the academic accomplishments of its top students, which included John Danchak, Jr., of Albrightsville, and Jamie Clemson, of Nesquehoning, during the institution's annual Honors Awards Ceremony at Lemmond Theater in Walsh Hall.
Danchak and Clemson were each awarded the Catherine Perry Wilkinson Leadership Award, which is given to a graduating student who demonstrates exemplary potential for leadership in the profession.
The students received their degrees May 23 during Misericordia's 84th annual commencement ceremony.
Founded and sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy in 1924, Misericordia University is Luzerne County's first four-year college and offers 32 academic majors on the graduate and undergraduate levels in full and part-time formats.
