PV's Mantz headed to Albright for volleyball
Panther Valley senior Christa Mantz will continue her academic and volleyball career at Albright College in Reading.
Mantz was a three-year varsity starter. She was the first girl to join the Varsity 500 Kill Club, while leading the Panthers to the Schuylkill League Division II Championship. Mantz also racked up 500 service points during her varsity career. Mantz was a Schuylkill League Division II First Team All-Star as well as a District 11 Class AA All-Star.
"Christa Mantz has always been a dominating force on the court. I believe her presence will be felt at the college level, due to her determination to win and her natural athletic ability," said Panther Valley coach Nancy Filer.
In addition to playing volleyball at Panther Valley High School, Mantz was a member of the varsity swimming and track and field teams for four years. Mantz is a member of the National Honor Society and was on the distinguished honor roll for all four years.
Mantz will be majoring in Elementary Education and will minor in Psychology at Albright.
