Service wins ESRC title

Service Electric claimed its fifth ESRC Winter Basketball League Championship in the past eight years with a 53-49 victory over R.R. Frey Services.
The win capped off an undefeated season for Service Electric (10-0), while R.R. Frey Services finished the year with a 7-3 mark.
R.R. Frey Services got off to a fast start by scoring the first six points of the game and raced out to a 30-25 halftime lead. However, Service Electric finished strong by outscoring R.R. Frey 14-6 over the game's final ten minutes to rally to the four-point victory.
Josh McCabe led Service Electric with a game-high 17 points, including a 10-for-13 performance from the foul line. Jeff Peel tacked on 10 points.
For R.R. Frey Services, Ryan Achenbach scored the first nine points for his team in the second half and ended the night with 14 points and six rebounds. Jeremy Frey added 13 points and three three-pointers.
After the contest, Service Electric's Josh McCabe was recognized as the 2010 ESRC Winter Basketball League M.V.P. McCabe led Service Electric in scoring, averaging 14.88 points per game (and 14.5 points per game in the playoffs).
