New Ringgold shooting ruled murder-suicide

A shooting incident in New Ringgold last Thursday has been ruled a murder-suicide by state police investigators.

Troopers from the Frackville barracks said Cindy L. Arndt, 50, of 416 N. Keim St., shot her husband, Randolph Wayne Randt II, 44, in the chest with a .44-caliber handgun. She then turned the gun on herself and committed suicide.

Troopers said the couple had been experiencing marital problems prior to the shooting. The bodies of the two were found about 6:10 p.m. by a family member. No one else was in the home when the shooting occurred, troopers said. The gun used in the shooting was obtained within the residence.
