Driver cited after Carbon crash
A driver was cited following a crash in Carbon County. State police at Lehighton reported on the incident and also on two hit and run accidents.
Troopers said on Friday, Jan. 1, about 12:30 a.m. Tara L. Heintzelman, 38, of Lehighton, was driving a 2006 Dodge Durango westbound on Pohopoco Drive, in Towamensing Township, when she lost control. The vehicle went onto the berm and struck a large sign with the front end.
Heintzelman was not injured. She was cited for traveling on roadways laned for traffic.
Troopers investigated a hit and run crash on Jan. 1 at 44 Short Ridge Road, in Polk Township, Monroe County. Troopers said a vehicle struck a mailbox at the above location and the driver fled the scene. No time frame was set for the accident.
On Dec. 31 about 7:05 p.m. a vehicle was driven along Owl Hollow Road in Ross Township, Monroe County, when it crashed into a mailbox along the road in Saylorsburg. The driver then fled the scene.
