A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following a one vehicle crash that occurred about 8:24 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, along SR209, between New Philadelphia and Middleport.

State police at Frackville said Joseph Matthew Renninger, 24, of New Philadelphia, was driving a 1999 Ford Escort that left the road on the east side, struck a PennDOT sign and then went down a small embankment.

Renninger was not injured. Troopers said he was found to be under the influence of alcohol and was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center South, Pottsville, for a blood test. Troopers said charges will be filed.
