Arrest made in Schuylkill break-in
An arrest has been made for a burglary that occurred last December in Schuylkill County.
State police at Frackville said Anthony Cress, 23, and Krissty Cress, 27, both of Girardville, have been charged in connection with the entry to the residence of Elizabeth Cress, 433 E. Mahanoy Ave., Girardville, that occurred on Dec. 21 between 2:30 and 6:30 p.m.
At the time Mrs. Cress returned home to find her home had been forcibly entered and numerous rooms throughout the house were disturbed. Damages were estimated at $400. Removed was U.S. currency and collector coins, as well as various items of jewelry were missing with a total value of $800.
Through an investigation it was determined that Anthony Cress entered the home and removed the missing items and that he, with the assistance of Krissty Cress, sold some of the jewelry and disposed of the currency.
Anthony Cress was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal mischief. He was arraigned before District Judge Bernadette Nahas of Frackville and committed to the county prison in Pottsville in lieu of $50,000 straight cash bail.
Krissty Cress had a charge of receiving stolen property filed against her. Troopers did not indicate if the two suspects were related in any way with the victim.
