Two vehicle crash probed in Monroe

A two vehicle crash was probed in Monroe County about 11:10 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 17.

State police at Fern Ridge said Haris Bekteshi, 19, of Lyndhurst, N.J., was driving a 2005 Toyota Corolla westbound when the vehicle slid across the right lane onto the right shoulder and struck the guard rails. After impact the Toyota spun back into the right lane and was struck by a 1995 Plymouth Neon driven by Kirsten M. Parks, 18, of Bloomsburg. After that impact the Toyota struck the guard rail a second time and came to rest partially in the right westbound lane.

Bekteshi, his 17-year-old male passenger, Parks, and her passenger Justin A. Whitenight, 22, also of Bloomsburg, were all not injured.

Troopers cited Bekteshi for driving on roadways laned for traffic.
