Cigarettes, lottery tickets stolen in Carbon burglary

A large quantity of cigarettes and lottery tickets were stolen from a Carbon County business during a burglary that occurred early today.

State police at Lehighton said two unknown criminals threw a large boulder through the front door of Pappy's General Store, 600 White St., Bowmanstown, about 2:14-2:16 a.m. The two then entered the store and removed $300 worth of Newport brand cigarettes and $2,700 worth of state lottery tickets.

The two were dressed in black with black backpacks and hooded coats. The store is owned by Bhaskarbhai M. Patel, 46, of Bensalem, Bucks County.
