A driver was cited following a crash that occurred about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4, along SR534 in Polk Township, Monroe County. It was one of two accidents investigated by state police at Lehighton.

Troopers said Jerome T. Weber, 60, of Albrightsville, was driving a 1999 Ford F250 pickup truck northbound when he lost control. The truck went onto the west shoulder and struck a ditch and a tree.

Weber was slightly injured and treated at the scene. The truck had to be towed from the scene.

Assisting troopers were volunteers from the West End ambulance and Polk Township Fire Company. Troopers cited Weber for driving on roadways laned for traffic.

Troopers reported on a crash that occurred about 11:48 p.m. on Monday along Old Route 115, in Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Anthony Consoli, 83, of Albrightsville, was southbound and attempted to make a U-turn and while blocking the southbound lane his 2000 Nissan Altima was struck by a 2001 Plymouth Neon driven by Josephine Bahn, 19, of Saylorsburg.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries, troopers said, with Consoli taken to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, for treatment. Damages were moderate to both vehicles.
