Jewerly valued at over $5,000 stolen

State police at Lehighton are investigating the reported theft of jewelry valued at over $5,000.

Troopers said Bridgette A. Gorman, 53, of 75 Beers Lane, Palmerton, Towamensing Township, Carbon County, came to the barracks on Wednesday, Jan. 20, about 4 p.m. and reported the theft of jewelry from her home. She said multiple pieces of her jewelry were taken from a jewelry box located in a bedroom of the home. Estimated value was set at $5,125.

The theft occurred sometime between Dec. 1, 2009, and Wednesday.
