DUI cases head to court

Numerous defendants were scheduled to have driving under the influence (DUI) related cases heard before District Judge Stephen Bayer, of Tamaqua, in the last few weeks. One motorist failed to appear for his preliminary hearing while the others all waived their rights.

William N. Faust, 21, of 53 S. Lehigh Gorge, Weatherly, was bound over to court on all charges filed by Kline Township Patrolman James Patterson. Charges included three counts of DUI of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and failure to heed a stop sign. The incident took place on Nov. 24.

William G. Myers, 27, of 303 Washington St., Tamaqua, waived a hearing on charges of DUI and exceeding the speed limit by 20 miles-per-hour. He was charged by Tamaqua Patrolman Jeffrey Wainwright following an Oct. 10 incident.

Myers remains free on his own recognizance.

Terry L. Bachert, 55, of 515 Arlington St., Tamaqua, was charged with DUI by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers. The charges stem from a Sept. 26 incident.

Bachert was also released on his own recognizance.

Nicholas B. McGlothlin, 18, of 338 Arlington St., Tamaqua, was charged by Wainwright following a Nov. 17 incident. McGlothlin was charged with DUI of a controlled substance and exceeding the speed limit by 15 m.p.h.

He was freed on his own recognizance.

Christopher J. Beishline, 33, of 110 W. Blaine St., McAdoo, faces charges of DUI and improper signals. He was charged by McAdoo Patrolman Robert Minnick following a Dec. 5 incident.

Beishline was freed on his own recognizance.

Melissa Coppala, 33, of 217 W. Fourth St., Hazleton, was also charged by McAdoo Patrolman Minnick. She was charged with DUI of a controlled substance and disregarding a traffic lane. The charges stem from a Jan. 30, 2009 incident.

She remains free on her own recognizance.

Alexander L. Brandecker, 21, of 6225 Vista Terrace, Orefield, faces charges of DUI and exceeding the speed limit by 22 m.p.h. He was charged by Coaldale Patrolman Scott Cramer following a Nov. 15 incident.

He was freed on his own recognizance.

Charles E. Tidabock, 63, of 31 Fort Franklin, Andreas, was cited by West Penn Township Patrolman Jason Lorah. The charges, stemming from a July 7 incident, include DUI and following too closely for conditions.

Tidabock was released on his own recognizance.

Jammie S. Shadler, 21, of 21 N. Union St., Shenandoah, was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without rear lights. The charges were filed by Rush Township Patrolman Jonathan McHugh following a Dec. 4 incident.

Shadler was released on her own recognizance.

Paul Kropp, 53, of 124 Penn St., Tamaqua, faces charges of DUI filed by Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers. The charges stem from a Sept. 23 incident.

Kropp remains free on his own recognizance.
