The Jim Thorpe Fire Department has a limited number of smoke detectors for residents of the borough. If you need a smoke detector, contact Fire Chief Bill Diehm at (570) 325-3890.

Class of 1980

The first meeting to organize the 30th class reunion will be held by members of the 1980 graduating class of Jim Thorpe High School at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, at Terpstra's Bar, formerly Gerber's, North St.
