Rush Twp. police make theft arrests

Jarrod Deblasi, 18, of Hazleton, is facing retail theft charges filed by Rush Township police after he allegedly attempted to steal a game out of a magazine at Walmart in Hometown. The value of the magazine and game is $8.99.

On Jan. 26 at 4 p.m., police arrested Aimee L. Roman, 32, of Tamaqua, after she allegedly attempted to steal 17 items of hair accessories valued at $83.94 from Walmart.

Police are also investigating the theft of two kayaks taken sometime after Christmas from the shore at the number three beach in Lake Hauto. The kayaks were new and eight-nine feet long. One was hunter green and the other was orange.
