Driver to be cited after accident

A Schuylkill County driver will be cited following a one-vehicle crash that occurred about 11:09 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, along SR61 in New Castle Township.

State police at Frackville said Robert Michael Feeney, 21, of Ashland, was driving a 2001 Oldsmobile Alero southbound in the passing lane. He then attempted to pass another vehicle in the right lane but lost control while rounding a right curve. His vehicle went onto the berm and struck an embankment. The vehicle came to rest on the west berm facing south.

Feeney was taken to St. Catherine's Medical Center, Ashland, for an evaluation, troopers said.

Troopers said Feeney will be cited for the accident.
