Thomas Dougherty received the unanimous endorsement of the Mauch Chunk Fire Department for the position of fire chief at the annual meeting held in the Marion Hose Company. Presented at that time was the report of retiring chief Fred Kemmerle. Other officers are Roland Edwards, assistant chief; Joseph Hilferty, president; Robert D. Tobias, first vice president, and George B. Hall, second vice president.
