Fire destroys car in Monroe incident

A fire destroyed a vehicle in a Monroe County incident.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Cortell Coley, 23, of 164 Main St., Tobyhanna, had arrived home about 7 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 7, and went to sleep. He awoke when he heard a loud bang and discovered his Toyota Camry fully engulfed in flames. The car was destroyed but no one was injured.

Police said the car was parked next to an apartment building and the structure did sustain some damage. Coolbaugh Township Fire Company volunteers extinguished the blaze, police said.
