Burglary, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary and several theft incidents.

The break-in occurred at the home of Kevin Gregory McGrath, 54, of 341 Bear Creek Drive, Penn Forest Township, Jim Thorpe, Carbon County.

Troopers said the home was entered through a breezeway. Removed was a 46-inch Sony Bravia LCD television from the living room. The TV is valued at $2,500. The entry was made sometime between Jan. 10-28, troopers said.

The first theft incident was reported by Lisa Jane Sullivan, 46, and Dustie Jane Sullivan, 21, of 7430 Kunkletown Rd., in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County. Removed from the residence were several pieces of jewelry from the two victims' jewelry boxes.

Among the items taken was a 1981 Easton Area High School ring, a 2006 Pleasant Valley High School class ring, and a gold plated name plate with the name "Samantha" on it. Total estimated value of the missing items is $2,474. The theft occurred sometime between Jan. 19 and Feb. 2.

Tracy Horveath, 44, of 51 Bowmans Rd., Lehighton, East Penn Township, Carbon County, reported several items were removed from her residence sometime between noon and 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 31, 2009.

Gigi V. Barton, 44, of Saylorsburg, Ross Township, reported someone obtained information concerning her credit card and purchased items from Fossil and American Qutfitters. The incident occurred sometime between Jan. 27, 2009, and Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Troopers reported on several thefts at the Blue Mountain Ski Area in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

A 16-year-old male from Quakertown reported his backpack with various ski hats and gloves inside was stolen on Jan. 28, 2009.

Several days later a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old males, both from Northampton, were apprehended at the resort wearing the exact clothing stolen.

A 15-year-old male from Kintnersville, Bucks County, reported a book bag containing multiple electronics stolen on Jan. 29, 2009, about 8:04 p.m.

Bryan Alexander Puterbaugh, 19, of Milford, N.J., reported his snowboard was stolen from a rack outside the Valley Lodge on Jan. 31, 2009, between 6:45 and 7 p.m.
