Crash probed in Towamensing Twp.

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, along Penn Forest Road, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said Alexander S. Gicking, 18, of Coplay, was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer northbound when he lost control while driving too fast for conditions. The Explorer crashed into a tree along the right berm. Gicking was not injured but damages were disabling to the vehicle.

Troopers cited Gicking for driving a vehicle at an (un) safe speed.
