LCCC announces Who's Who award recognition

Thirty-three Lehigh Carbon Community College students were included in the 2010 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. These students were selected as nationally outstanding campus leaders based on their academic achievement service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities, and potential for continued success.

They join an elite group of students selected from 1,400 institutions for higher learning in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and several foreign nations. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since it was first published in 1966. Students need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for membership.

ĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â· Achieve a minimum GPA of 3.25 or higher

ĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â· Earn a minimum of 24 credits at LCCC

ĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â· Currently enroll in six or more credits at LCCC

ĂƒÂ‚Ă‚Â· Receive an endorsement from an LCCC faculty member

These students will be recognized by Dean Peggy Heim at the Annual Spring Awards Banquet on April 29.

Local students include:

Lehighton: Jamie Nace.

New Tripoli: Natalie DeBellis.

Palmerton: John Breiner.

Tamaqua: Hui Yi Hsiao and Ashley Leibensperger.
