Victim of fatal hit and run identified

State police at Fogelsville have identified the woman who was struck and killed by a hit and run driver along SR222 in Lehigh County early Thursday morning, Feb. 4.

Troopers said Gerarda Rawski, 47, of Ridge Ave., Allentown, was struck about 6:15 a.m. in the southbound lane at Brookside Road, in Lower Macungie Township. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was near the turnpike overpass when struck. The driver of the vehicle that struck her first fled the scene. Other motorists did stop immediately, troopers said.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
