Church news

Social hour volunteers are needed at Salem St. Paul's Lutheran Church, to take turns with serving/cleaning up at social hour on Sundays after worship. If you would be willing to serve in this way, please contact Debbie Smith (610) 681-4191 or Joan McKinsey (610) 681-3760. Hosts and hostesses are welcome.

Sunday, Feb. 7 is Souper Bowl of Caring at the 8:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. There will be Holy Communion with Food Offering for PVEN and Money Offering for World Hunger and PVEN. At 9 a.m. there is Sunday School for all ages and Confirmation Class, and at 11:30 a.m. there will be a blood drive.

Altar Guild members are asked to sign up for next year. If possible please sign up for two months during the year. The schedule is located in a folder in the sacristy. New members are welcome. A job description is available and training is provided. Please see Sue Potts with any questions.

Meals on Wheels of Monroe County has a program to integrate pet food deliveries to low income clients. They are accepting unopened, not expired, not dented cans and bags weighing less than 20 pounds for dogs and cats. Donations may be dropped off at the church. Food Offering is every first Sunday which helps feed the hungry in the West End. Please bring boxes or cans of food any time and place them in the barrel by church office. SSP sets aside the first Sunday of every month to help you remember. Their PVEN volunteers take the food on Tuesdays. If you need food, clothing or rental assistance, call the director of PVEN, Eloise Laubach, at (570) 992-3136.

Birthday wishes

Celebrating his 65th birthday, on Feb. 4 is Bob Coleman. Celebrating his 21st birthday on Feb. 9 is Tighe Meckes.
