Vehicle stop leads to drug charges

A vehicle stop by members of the Pocono Mountain Regional police led to the driver facing drug charges.

Officers stopped a vehicle along SR196, south fo Park Drag, in Tobyhanna, Coolbaugh Township, about 1:23 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, for equipment violations. At the stop officers observed items in the vehicle consistent with drug use.

The driver was identified as Sean Andra Foster, 21, of Tobyhanna. While speaking with Foster outside the vehicle officers observed a plastic bag of marijuana on the pavement behind the vehicle. Foster consented to a search of his person and vehicle. Found were three bags of marijuana which appeared to be similar of the one found on the pavement.

Foster was taken into custody and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. After being processed at police headquarters he was released. Charges will be filed, police added.
