Schuylkill crashes
State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on two crashes, including a hit and run, investigated by troopers over the past weekend on Schuylkill County roads.
The hit and run occurred about 8:35 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, along Chamberlaine Ave. on the parking lot of Pine View Acres restaurant in Norwegian Township. An unknown female driver struck the parked 2009 Toyota Tacoma of David Lipsett, Mar-Lin, and fled the scene. The hit and run vehicle is described as being an older model Chevrolet, late 1980s early 1990s, possibly a Lumina or Corsica, white in color, and should have damage to the right front bumper area.
A one-vehicle crash occurred about 11:10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 26, along Summer Valley Road (SR895), in West Brunswick Township. Troopers said Michael A. Corbacio, 20, of Berwick, was driving a 1989 Buick Regal eastbound when he lost control on the snow-covered road. The car struck the guide rail along the berm, traveled about 75 feet, and then struck a tree where it came to rest.
Corbacio was not injured. He was cited for driving at an (un) safe speed.
