Woman cited after Jim Thorpe parade

A Lehigh County woman was facing several charges following incidents following the St. Patrick's Day parade in Jim Thorpe on Sunday, March 14.

Borough police said about 4:15 p.m. officers responded to a local establishment for an unwanted person. On scene officers found Tammy Lynn Maggio, of 4526 Hoffman Drive, Whitehall, intoxicated and refusing to leave. Maggio became unruly with officers and pushed Officer John Donato. Maggio was taken into custody and transported to the police station where she became unruly again.

Maggio was charged with simple assault, harassment, persistent disorderly conduct, defiant trespass, public drunkenness and resisting arrest. She was arraigned before duty District Judge Joseph Homanko, of Weatherly, and was committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $5,000 straight cash bail.
