Inmate arrested for failure to show
An inmate at the Carbon County prison was arrested when he failed to report to the prison to serve a sentence. Nesquehoning police reported on the incident and a theft report.
Police Chief Sean Smith said he received a complaint from prison officials on Jan. 28, that inmate Jesse A. Anthony, 25, of Lehighton, failed to report to the prison at 9 a.m. on Dec. 11, 2009, to begin serving a three to six month prison term. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest and he was taken into custody on Jan. 27 by the sheriff's department.
Smith filed a charge of default in required appearance against Anthony.
Smith also reported he is investigating a theft which was reported by Anthony DiMiceli, of 15 W. Diaz Ave., that occurred on Monday, Feb. 1, at 7:15 p.m. DiMiceli said he was waiting to go bowling and placed his double bowling ball case, containing a green bowling ball and a gray and black bowling ball, a pair of blue and gray bowling shoes, a white wrist strap, AT&T white sports towel and a Eagles white sports towel at the bottom of his driveway. DiMiceli then checked his home and alarm system. When he returned the bag was missing. Total estimated value of the missing items was set at $541.50.
