Police are probing PFA violation

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a case where a New York man reportedly violated a Protection From Abuse order issued in the Monroe County Court.

Police said the victim is a 28-year-old female from Effort.

It is alleged the unnamed defendant violated the court order by contacting the victim via a telephone call. The man is facing indirect criminal contempt charges.

The incident happened between 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, and 6 p.m. Sunday, March 14.
