Burglary, theft incidents probed

State police at Lehighton reported investigating a burglary, two theft from vehicles and several acts of criminal mischief this week.

The break-in occurred at the residence of Richard C. Kuklentz, 60, of Box 3298A Blue Ridge Rd., in Saylorsburg, Ross Township, Monroe County. Troopers said forced entry was made to a tool shed on the property and removed were two chainsaws. The criminals then entered a cabin on the property and took various small household items from inside. The incident occurred sometime between March 16-18.

Troopers said the 2007 Pontiac of Tamara Stelmach, 42, of Kunkletown, was entered while parked at her residence at 1540 Kunkletown Rd., in Eldred Township, Monroe County. Entry was gained by smashing the passenger side window. Removed was a purse containing various credit cards, $100 in cash and caused $100 damages to the car. The incident occurred sometime between 11 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, and 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

Douglas Ahner, 46, of 955 SR903, in Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported someone removed the driveshaft from his parked 1997 Ford F150 pickup truck. The theft occurred sometime between Monday, March 15, and Tuesday.

The following acts of criminal mischief were reported.

David Varenkamp, 46, of Hybridge, N.J., reported someone damaged the door on his 2002 Coachman camper while parked along Point Phillips Road, in Eldred Township, soemtime between Feb. 15 and Thursday, March 18.

Stephen Paul Berger, 50, of 283 Bear Creek Drive, in Jim Thorpe, Penn Forest Township, reported someone tampered with his propane tank and line connection. The incident was reported at 6:28 a.m. on Wednesday, March 17.

Aliette Foreste, 52, of Box 7099, Rossmor Drive, Saylorsburg, Ross Township, reported someone threw a large rock through the front side door window of her vehicle. The incident occurred sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Two parked unlocked vehicles at 1545 Kunkletwon Road, in Saylorsburg, Eldred Township, were entered and rummaged through but nothing apparently taken. The victims were Terrance O'Donnell, 42, of Saylorsburg, and Brian Bostedo, 28, of Stanhope, N.J. The incident occurred sometime between midnight and 3 a.m. on Wednesday.
