Locals named to MVC First Team

Lehighton's Jordyn Homyak and Pleasant Valley's Kasey Meckes were both named to the First Team of the 2009-10 Mountain Valley Conference Girls All-Star Team.

Homyak, a junior, averaged 15.4 points per game for the Indians while Meckes, also a junior, topped the Bears in scoring with 12.6 ppg.

No TIMES NEWS area boys players were named to the First Team although PV's Mike Sharpe was selected to the Second Team. Sharpe finished the season averaging 11.5 points per game.

Kyheim Hall of Pocono Mountain East was selected as the MVC boys' Most Valuable Player, while Carly Gallagher of East Stroudsburg South was named the girls' MVP.
