Golden Agers

The Panther Valley Golden Agers had 47 members present at the last meeting after several months of absence due to inclement weather. President Ronnie Bazik opened the meeting with Bernice Strepko reading "His Touch." Sue Dopira read a brief history of St. Patrick's Day.

Twenty-three birthday celebrants were seated around a table decorated with a St. Patrick's Day theme. Janet Keich won the floral arrangement donated by Porvaznik Florist. Gifts were also donated by Kennedy Pharmacy. Alex Shereba sang the birthday greeting wishing all many happy years.

A special guest of the day was 6-month-old Jaxson Karnish, a grandson of Frank and Mary Ann Karnish.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, March 22 at 1 p.m., which will include an Easter Bonnet program.

Chorus will begin practice at 11 a.m. in preparation for the annual Memorial Mass for deceased members of 2009 to be held at St. Joseph Church on April 12 at 11 a.m.

JROTC

The Panther Valley High School's JROTC Booster Club will meet on Wednesday, March 24, at 6 p.m. in the classroom. All are invited.

Summit Hill

St. Paul Lutheran

A special healing service will be held on Sunday, March 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill. Anyone in need of physical, emotional or financial healing, or other types of assistance, is invited to participate in the service.

The Sunday school will meet that day at 9 a.m.

On Tuesday, March 23, the D.O.C.S. of the church will meet at 7 p.m.

Lenten service

A midweek interdenominational Lenten service will be held on Wednesday, March 24, at St. John Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford.

The evening will begin with a light supper at 6 o'clock, followed by the worship service at 7 o'clock.

Methodist Charge

The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, March 21, is as follows:

Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will preside at both services.

The adult Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.

Food pantry

The Summit Hill Food Pantry will be open on Tuesday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to noon. Please bring extra bags for food. For more information contact Rose Marie Armon at (570) 645-3604 or Sandra Hill at 645-4617.

Coaldale

First Congregational Church

Morning Worship will be held at First Congregational Church at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 21, followed by Sunday School at 10 a.m.

The church ministry team will conduct a service at the Hometown Nursing Home at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 23.

Lenten services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 24, followed by choir rehearsal.

Palm Sunday Worship Services will take place at 9 a.m. Sunday, March 29, and Sunday School at 10 a.m.

A Passover Meal and Easter Story in Scripture will be offered for both church members and the general public at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 30.
