Monroe County charges Polk Twp. man arrested for alleged sexual offenses
A 50-year-old Polk Township man has been arrested and charged with sex offenses involving two small children, one between the ages of 4 and 7 and the other between the ages of 7 and 12.
The alleged offenses took place six to 12 years ago.
Scott Thomas Karaman is being charged with:
• Two counts of rape of a child.
• Two counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a person less than 13 years of age.
• Two counts of aggravated indecent assault with a person less than 13 years of age.
• Two counts of incest.
• Two counts of indecent exposure.
• Two counts of corruption of minors.
Both alleged victims were female.
The arresting officer, Trooper Nicholas A. De La Iglesia of the Lehighton barracks of the state police said Karaman was arrested in New Jersey based on a warrant of arrest for the charges filed in this investigation.
He will be brought to Monroe County for further criminal proceedings, including arraignment, in this matter.
Allegedly Karaman had sex with the victims between Jan. 1, 1997, and Dec. 31, 2004.
