April 14, 1959 Freshman reliever Wayne Reabold gets the final two outs to preserve a 5-4 Jim Thorpe win over Ringtown. Reabold enters the contest with the bases loaded and one out but works out of the jam to give the Olympians the victory. Paul Hydro collects a pair of hits and scores a run for the winners, coached by Jack Heycock. Thorpe also receives a long home run off the bat of Phil "Pip" Rader.
