April 13, 1970 Ricky Sassaman tosses a four-hitter to lead Marian to an 8-2 Hughie McGeehan League victory over Jim Thorpe. Sassaman, a lefty, strikes out 12 batters in gaining the win. The Colts, coached by Pat Morgans, receive a single, triple and two RBIs from Jim Labosky. Mike Soley contributes two hits, one a double, and a run scored while Joe Pucklanage and Sassaman each add two-run singles.
